Frog Tape Bedroom Wall

AT the age of seven, most kids are too busy gaming or playing with friends to be that fussed by what their bedroom looks like.

But when Amy Smith decided to redecorate her daughter Lexi May's room earlier this month, the seven-year-old was more than happy to get stuck in to the project.

The mother-and-daughter duo used the masking tape trick to create a colourful feature wall for Lexi May's bedroom.

Although Amy stuck the tape at the top where her daughter couldn't reach, the proud mum says Lexi May created the rest of her geometric shapes herself.

To keep the cost down, the pair picked out £1.50 tester pots of Johnson's paint from B&M and The Range and bought two of each colour.

In total, Lexi May spent three hours perfecting the masking tape shapes and painting them in shades of pink, yellow and blue.

Once she was finished, Amy posted photos of Lexi's stylish new wall on the Facebook group Hinch Army Decorating Inspiration and Tips where it's racked up over 4,000 "likes".

Amy told Fabulous Digital: "She just loves art & is constantly drawing and for seven, she is fab!'

"She is a happy little girl and her bright room matches that."

What's more, Amy says the masking tape method for redecorating rooms is totally foolproof.

She added: "Once the tape is on, you can't go wrong - anyone could do it!"

"What clever girl, looks fantastic," one member of the group replied. "I bet she's over the moon with what she's achieved. How lovely!"

"A budding interior designer in the making," another added.

A third said: "She is gorgeous and her handy work is fabulous... well done Mum for allowing her to do it.

"She'll love it even more. I'm sure when she can have friends over, they'll love it too!"
